Treasure Hunt

THE GOLDEN ERA-2015 All-New Hyundai Sonata “Treasure Hunt” hints for audiences in New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles are below! Follow us on Facebook/Twitter/Weibo for clues  and remember – to win, all you have to do is “Like” each of the daily “Treasure Hunt” hints and solve the clues!

New York

Clue 1:

How long is the All-New 2015 Hyundai Sonata Test Drive? Take the first number from that, duplicate it and put it side-by-side, and you’ve got the street in Manhattan where the prize can be found on the 18th!

Clue 2:

This piano _______ by Mozart was composed in 1784 and is one of only six sonatas composed during the Vienna years. It was published together with the Fantasy in C minor. Note the number as one of your clues to finding the $100 prize on October 18th!

Clue 3:

The Hyundai Sonata can get you around any part of the country – city or country – but in New York, you would want to hit up this area of Manhattan in order

Clue 4:

The Hyundai Sonata comes in “Venetian Red”, a spicy color; what type of Chinese food is famous for its spicy elements? Additional hint: it starts with the same letter as the Sonata!

Clue 5:

Just like Tang Wei plays Xiao Hong in THE GOLDEN ERA, Marion Cotillard plays an equally tragic figure in this movie; the first three words are your final clue to the location’s name!

Final Clue:

So far we’ve talked about the Sonata’s 3,000 mile road trip, Mozart’s Piano Sonata No. 14, driving around the Empire State Building in ‪‎Midtown East‬, great ‪‎Szechuan‬ food and La Vie en Rose. Do you have this restaurant name? If so, head on over starting at 11 a.m. EST and if you’re one of the first 4 people, you’ll be able to pick up your $100 prize certificate! We’ll post live once the first 4 winners have claimed their prize!

Los Angeles

Clue 1:

This province of China is well-known for its use of chili peppers in its cuisine. It’s also the first word of the restaurant where our “treasure” will be hidden on the 18th!

Clue 2:

The spiciest pepper in the world is the bhut jolokia, also know as the ghost pepper, and is considered “exceptionally hot”. One could say that it is the ____ of _____ peppers.

Clue 3:

The All-New 2015 Hyundai Sonata SE can get you on the 10 and off with its 37 MPG; get off at Del Mar or S. San Gabriel and use all your 185-hp 2.4L GDI 4-cylinder engine to find our next location on the first major intersection!

Clue 4:

The All-New 2015 Hyundai Sonata will have rear side sunshades integrated into the door panels; check the out at the link below. If the weather in L.A. is any indication, you’ll need them, especially if you’re driving through the San Gabriel _____. This clue is also the street where the location for the “Treasure Hunt” will end!

Clue 5:

In San Gabriel Valley, if you want the greasiest/spiciest Hunan food with 170+ items in an “absurdly large menu”, where do you go? Just remember there will be a line, so feel free to relax in the cool A/C of your All-New 2015 Hyundai Sonata!

Final Clue:

So far we’ve talked about the province in China famous for peppers (Hunan), and those peppers being the King of Chilli (nay, Chili) peppers, the road between Del Mar and S. San Gabriel off the 10 freeway, the San Gabriel Valley, and a menu with over 170 items. Do you have the restaurant name? If so, head on over starting at 11 a.m. EST and if you’re one of the first 4 people, you’ll be able to pick up your $100 prize certificate! We’ll post live once the first 4 winners have claimed their prize!

San Francisco

Clue 1:

Ditch this local Muni Metro line that serves the Parkside District just south of the Sunset District in favor of a sleek and cool All-New 2015 Hyundai Sonata! It was one of the original 1919 lines, so you’re not going to find the Bluetooth hands-free phone system or the iPod jack that comes standard on the Sonata!

Clue 2:

THE GOLDEN ERA heroine Xiao Hong, played by Tang Wei, was born in China; the novels she wrote were written in various parts of China. One could say that these books were _ in China.

Clue 3:

According to Yelp reviewers, where’s the best place between 19th Avenue and McCoppin Square to get Hunan-style food?  Especially the fish head?

Clue 4:

How many cylinders in the All-New 2015 Hyundai Sonata? This number tells you how many digits are in the street address of the location name! Remember, only the first 4 people who arrive on the 18th get the prize!

Clue 5:

The Hyundai Sonata has this number of airbags; if you’ve figured out the other clues, you’ll know the street address adds up to this number!

Final Clue:

So far we’ve talked about the 1919 Muni line (Taraval), works of art Made in China, Hunan Food, how many cylinders the All-New 2015 Hyundai Sonata has (4) and the address of our location adding up to 7 (1033). Do you have the restaurant name? If so, head on over between 12 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. PST and if you’re one of the first 4 people, you’ll be able to pick up your $100 prize certificate! We’ll post live once the first 4 winners have claimed their prize!

Stay tuned for additional hints and reveals throughout the week, ending on the 18th when you can find the $100 prize certificate!
